Some stories aren’t planned.
This one began on an ordinary workday with a simple email exchange, and an idea that immediately stayed with us.
How We Met Old Bird Vibes (OBV)
We first connected with Old Bird Vibes (OBV) through the internet in the most natural way: a conversation that started with product talk, turned into shared curiosity, and quickly became a back-and-forth about birds, nature, and the joy of noticing the little things.
OBV describes themselves with a kind of calm purpose we deeply relate to:

Then, in one email, they shared an idea—simple, thoughtful, and full of heart:
They wanted to donate bird feeders to seniors, so more people could enjoy the joy of modern, smart birdwatching.
We didn’t have to think twice.
We Wanted to Support It—In a Real Way
To be honest, we loved the idea immediately. And we didn’t want our support to stop at “That’s wonderful.”
At our office, we had a number of products that had been returned by customers. They were fully intact and in great condition, but due to standard processes, they couldn’t be resold.
Yet functionally, they were no different from our current retail units—still capable of bringing birds closer, and turning an everyday window view into something quietly magical.
So we offered to donate those units products that couldn’t go back on the shelf, but could absolutely belong in someone’s life.
In moments like this, we’re reminded that doing good doesn’t always require something big. Sometimes it simply means placing what you already have something still valuable into the right hands.
The Joy We Felt Was More Real Than We Expected
The process itself wasn’t complicated. But it made us genuinely happy throughout.
Not only because of the “giving back” warmth people often talk about, but because of something even more grounding:
what we build can be experienced by more people, in more places, for more meaningful reasons.
A smart bird feeder is a product, yes, but it can also be an invitation.
An invitation to slow down. To feel connected. To share a moment with nature.
And when more people get to open that door, we feel a deep kind of satisfaction.
From One Attempt to a Long-Term Commitment
Because of this experience, we started to share this idea more often with people and communities we’re connected to asking a simple question:
Could our products help unlock more joy, calm, and connection in places that matter?
And we want to say this clearly:
If you have a similar idea—
whether it’s bringing smart birdwatching to a community space, a senior home, a nonprofit initiative, or a nature education program—
we’d love to hear from you.
We’ll review and discuss each proposal thoughtfully, and whenever possible, we’ll provide product support to help make it happen.
Let’s Help More Good Ideas Happen
Some of the best things don’t begin with a grand plan—
they begin with a small, sincere action.
This time, it began with an email.
Next time, it might begin with yours.
