I totally love this security camera. It had the most easy set up over all of my security cameras. It even can format my SD card so I don't have to go do this on my laptop. I love that it's also magnetic and gives me good notification of any movement and it does have great video quality. All in all, I'd definitely recommend and thinking again of buying more.

Yes, the Kiwibit Battery Cam 1 requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection to operate. Once the camera is set up in the app and a microSD card is inserted, videos will be backed up to the card. Even if the Wi-Fi connection is lost, the camera will continue recording directly to the microSD card.

Can the Kiwibit Battery Cam 1 be installed without screws?

Yes, the Kiwibit Battery Cam 1 comes with a magnetic bracket for easy, screw-free installation. However, for the magnetic bracket to work, the camera must be mounted on the surface of ferrous material, such as a refrigerator, iron door and so on.

Does the Kiwibit Battery Cam 1 support color images at night?

Yes, the Kiwibit Battery Cam 1 supports color images at night. To enable this feature, go to Home > Camera Settings > Video Settings, enable Auto Night Vision, and select Color Mode.

Is the encryption key my password, and does anyone other than me have access to the videos stored on your servers or the live camera feed?

No, the encryption keys for cloud storage are not derived from your password. They are securely managed by our system to ensure that only authenticated users can access the videos through the app. No one else, including our team, can access the video content without proper authentication.

We are also working on implementing end-to-end encryption (E2EE), which will allow you to control the encryption key through an additional password. This feature will ensure that only you can decrypt and access the videos. However, E2EE is not yet available in the current product.

How can I access the video stored locally on the SD card? Do I need to remove the SD card to view the saved files?

No, you don’t need to remove the SD card to view the saved files. You can access the locally stored videos directly through the app. The app establishes an encrypted transmission channel with the camera, enabling secure access to the videos.

If you prefer, you can remove the SD card and use a computer to view the video files, offering you flexibility in accessing your locally stored videos.

Is the video that is sent to the cloud encrypted both in transit and on your servers?

Yes, all videos sent to the cloud are encrypted during transmission (in transit) and while stored on AWS S3 servers (at rest). AWS S3 is one of the most widely recognized secure storage solutions globally.
